New in...

A few days ago the freeeeeezing + muddy weather made me hunting in some online stores because I really didn't want to go outside. So good for me it was SALE! Best chance to pimp my wardrobe without bothering my bank account too much at the end of the month. 

(I just spent between 10 and 30 Euros per item!)

Of course there were lots of items on my list which I had to sent back straight away! 

Here are the ones I gonna keep! Can't wait to wear them :-)

Vor einigen Tagen hatte das kalte Sauwetter auch einmal seine Gute Seite, denn ich wollte mich wirklich NICHT in die Kälte begeben: ONLINE SHOPPING! Traf sich natürlich gut, dass Sale war. Für mich immer die perfekte Gelegenheit den Kleiderschrank mit ein paar netten Schnäppchen aufzufüllen, ohne das Konto am Ende des Monats zu sehr bluten zu lassen. 

Und das Gewissen meldet sich dann natürlich auch nicht, denn in Wirklichkeit hat Frau ja kein Geld ausgegeben, sondern sogar noch GESPART.  Pro Teil waren nur zwischen 10 und 30 Euro fällig. Hier sind meine Highlights, die ich auf jeden Fall behalten werde...für den Preis :-)

Back in the 80s // the twisted retro belt*

Back in the 80s

Heute kam endlich mein lang ersehntes Päckchen aus den USA an (zumindest eines von denen)! 

Ich hatte vor einigen Wochen diesen wunderbaren Vintage 80er Jahre Retro Gürtel auf etsy.com entdeckt und mich sofort verliebt!!! 

Ich konnte mich nicht entscheiden, welche Farbkombi mir am besten gefällt und so habe ich letztlich 3 dieser Sorte bestellt. Hier ist schonmal das erste Exemplar: eine Mischung aus mintgrün und petrolblau trifft auf rosa und pink, kombiniert mit einer eingedrehten Kette an Kunstperlen. 

Ich freu mich schon auf das richtige Wetter, um den Gürtel das erste Mal auszuführen - definitiv ein Retro-Frühling-Sommer-Look und zu schade für das Matsch Wetter da draußen.

Here we go...

Today I finally got this wonderful vintage belt by international mail - a 1980s twisted retro belt with some pearls. It features shades of teal blue, cream and pink accented by twisted faux pearls. It comes with a silver clasp and lots of stretch. 

I found this kind of belts on etsy.com and I instantly fell in love!!!
  
As I could not decide about the color and style, I bought three of them...so there are still 2 more to come. How exciting :-)

I can't wait for the right weather (we have still snow in Berlin) to wear the lovely belt with a nice, colorful spring / summer dress!

Passing winter*

or What I was wearing today...

Also wenn ihr mich fragt...langsam reicht es mit dem Winter. So schön der Schnee auch ist, mir ist einfach nur noch kalt und ich habe keine Lust mehr, mich ewig unter meiner dicken Winterjacke zu verstecken. Ich sehne mich nach Frühlingsfarben und Sommerkleidchen...die sind doch auch viel spannender! 

Hier mein heutiger Versuch meiner schwarzen, dicken, kuscheligen, sooo warmen Winterjacke zu entkommen. Und was tut ihr gegen diesen Winter-Outfit-Blues?  

If someone would ask me...I can't stand the winter weather in Berlin any more. Snow, snow, snow for days. I don't want to hide any more under my big black winter coat! I am longing for spring colours, some nice warm sun, picnic in the parcs and beautiful day dresses. 

This is what I was wearing today...at least one try to escape from my big black (but soooooo warm) winter coat. What do you think? What are you doing to escape from the winter-outfit-depression?

Heute habe ich mich total in die Brautkleider der Liberty Collection von Santos Costura verliebt. Sie sehen allesamt einfach klasse aus und ich würde am liebsten in den nächsten Flieger nach Barcelona steigen, um diese Kunstwerke einmal anzuprobieren. Hier eine kleine Auswahl...

Today I am totally in love with the bridal collection "liberty" from the spanish label Santos Costura. It would be great to take the next flight to Barcelona to see those beautiful dresses in person! I think they are right, they have great dresses for woman who desires individuality.

Summer love...

Ich habe dieses wunderschöne Kleid entdeckt und es hat sofort die Sehnsucht nach Sommer, Sonne und nach langen, hellen Tagen in mir geweckt.

Altmodisch oder eine Frage des Respekts? *

Beim längeren Anblick dieses wunderbaren Bildes bin ich wirklich ins Grübeln geraten. Bei dem Vater der Braut in spe um die Hand anhalten...ist das wirklich altmodisch oder einfach eine Frage des Respekts? 

Antrittsbesuch, Sonntagsanzug, Krawatte und Blumen für die Mutter der Angebeteten oder doch lieber in einem "informellen" Gespräch über die Pläne informieren und nur symbolisch um Erlaubnis bitten...ich glaube, an dieser Stelle bin ich wirklich froh, nicht in der Haut des zukünftigen Bräutigams zu stecken.

Parental Permission

Asking the father of the future bride for his permission...is it old fashioned or simply a question of respect? Obviously things are different in the 21th century. And honestly: if the father would say no, it would not stop anyone anyway. 

So what is the point? Is it still proper etiquette to do so?
