Antrittsbesuch, Sonntagsanzug, Krawatte und Blumen für die Mutter der Angebeteten oder doch lieber in einem "informellen" Gespräch über die Pläne informieren und nur symbolisch um Erlaubnis bitten...ich glaube, an dieser Stelle bin ich wirklich froh, nicht in der Haut des zukünftigen Bräutigams zu stecken.

Parental Permission
Asking the father of the future bride for his permission...is it old fashioned or simply a question of respect? Obviously things are different in the 21th century. And honestly: if the father would say no, it would not stop anyone anyway.
So what is the point? Is it still proper etiquette to do so?
